The traditional sjambok is a whip created in Africa from the hide of an adult hippopotamus or rhinoceros. It is generally used as a cattle prod, riding crop & can be very effective for self-defense from venomous snakes & other creatures. Unlike most western style whips which are coiled & released to use, the flexible yet rigid Sjambok can be swung like a rod or stick.
The weight, speed & flexibility of the Sjambok’s lash does all the work, & little skill or training is required to wield it effectively. Our innovative high-strength polymer version of the Sjambok features a solid lash, a robust steel handle with enhanced textured grip, a pommel with a lanyard hole. Since the Tactical Sjambok is made entirely from extremely durable materials, it is able to withstand harsh conditions as compared to a traditional leather whip.
